Electrifying Eagles triumph

   COLUMBIA CITY — The excitement is back in the air at Columbia City on Friday night and it’s just the start.
   Three games into the 2010 regular season, the Eagles are in the midst of their best start in more than a decade. Not since 1997 has a team at Columbia City started the season 3-0.
   That was until Friday night.

Double OT kick brings Whitko out on top 17-14

   SOUTH WHITLEY — When the game clock rolled over to 7:00, it became three of a kind for Whitko as they scored the game tying touchdown that made the score 7-7  in the fourth quarter against visiting Southwood.
   The magic number sevens kicked off the Wildcats luck on Friday night, leading them to a 17-14 double overtime win.  

No. 5 Eagles tame Panthers

   CHURUBUSCO — Friday night’s Northeast Corner Conference football match-up between the         Churubusco Eagles and the Prairie Heights Panthers was clearly a case of the “haves” versus the “have nots”.
   Churubusco entered the contest “having” scored 90 points in its first two games, and “having” only given up seven points in the same two contests.
