FORT WAYNE — Richard H. Horstmeyer, 83, died at Parkview Hospital, Oct. 26, 2011.
He is a son of the late Paul and Helen Horstmeyer, born April 1, 1928, in Fort Wayne.
He is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Barbara Ann (Huber) Horstmeyer; four sons Rick (Kathleen), Gregg (Joyce), Kirk, and Markus (Judy); a brother Robert Horstmeyer (Ann); nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Joyce Meyers and Carol Bair.
The funeral will be held Saturday, at 10 a.m. at Our Hope Lutheran Church, Huntertown.
Rex Charles Humbarger, 82, of Tavares, Fla., died, Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at Florida Hospital Waterman, Tavares, Fla.
Born Nov. 21, 1928, in Celina, Ohio, he was the son of the late Noah and Hazel Humbarger.
The U.S. Army veteran was a member of Holiday Mobile Park Boat Club.
He retired in 1994 as the owner/operator of King Foods after 34 years.
SOUTH WHITLEY — Three bid packages were submitted for Phase II of the waste water treatment plant and opened by project manager David Harvey with Fleis and Vandenbrink at Tuesday evening’s South Whitley town council meeting.
Mandated by the state, Phase II includes upgrades to the waste water treatment plant by enlarging the main water inceptor along Water and Main Streets, constructing a headwaters work building, and a new electrical building on an adjacent property.
