Kenneth Coble, 75

May 12, 2011

Kenneth D. Coble, 75, South Whitley, died at 1:18 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Ft. Wayne. He was born in Cleveland Township April 19, 1936 to Ray and Cloa (Shaffer) Coble.
Survivors include his wife, Sonda Coble; two sons, Kerry Kent Coble and Brad Coble; a brother, Herbert Coble; and a sister, Alice Leslie.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in South Whitley Cemetery, state Route 14, South Whitley. Rev. Dale Linhart will officiate. There are no calling hours.

Carl Wilkinson, 75

Carl E. “Hub” Wilkinson, 75, of Goshen, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. He was born Dec. 30, 1935 in Syracuse to Roy and Katie (Bitner) Wilkinson. He was a United States Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Avis Wilkinson; two sons, Brian Wilkinson and Darren Wilkinson; and a sister, Marlene Pollock.

Mary Prucinsky, 72

Mary Fern Prucinsky, 72, of Albion, passed away at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. Born Feb. 25, 1939 in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of Daniel Hobart and Selma (Anderson) Wolfe.

NHC grind: Carroll outlasts City

   FORT WAYNE — Following its first loss in the Northeast Hoosier Conference, Columbia City softball looked to avoid slipping from conference title contention at Carroll Wednesday.
   Despite 12 strikeouts on the mound, junior Lady Eagles’ pitcher Cassie Vodde couldn’t outlast the Lady Chargers late.
   A two-out RBI single by Emily Catanzarite in the bottom of the sixth inning helped Carroll hand Columbia City a 3-1 loss.

Winger’s HR paces ’Cats win

   NORTH MANCHESTER — A swing in the third inning set the pace for Whitko baseball on the road at Manchester Wednesday.
   Senior Alex Winger took Whitko from one down to one up on a two-run homer. The lead was never lost as Wildcats’ pitcher Alex Stoddard finish off a 7-2 win over the Squires.
