FORT WAYNE — A Churubusco man is in jail today after fleeing from a Fort Wayne hospital Tuesday.
Brad McClure, 38, was heading to Allen County Lockup when his treatment at St. Joseph’s Hospital was concluded, according to police, but fled the hospital at about 9:17 a.m. instead.

COLUMBIA CITY — Mike Bellinger has been chosen as the grand marshal of the American Legion Parade at Old Settlers Days for 2011.
The parade begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday from North Street down Main Street. It will be followed by the Mizpah Shrine’s Parade of Lights.

Ball Furniture has been deeply rooted in downtown Columbia City for five decades.

PIERCETON — The Whitko Community School Corporation (WCSC) board of school trustees approved a discipline plan which was presented by Whitko High School (WHS) vice-principal David Parker and social studies teacher Kathy Longenbaugh at this week’s board meeting.
Mandated by the Indiana Department of Education, the corporation-wide discipline plan is being developed to improve student behavior and discipline. A committee has been organized by WCSC in order to implement a plan.
