FORT WAYNE â The Lady Eagle soccer team traveled to Fort Wayne Thursday night to play Southside.
Though Columbia City lost, in a 3-0 shutout, the Lady Eagles used the game as a learning experience.
âSouthside is a very different team than we faced last year,â Columbia City Head Coach Nicole Gebfert said. âLast year they were quick and aggressive. This year, they were quick, aggressive and had talent.â
Gebfert said the game wasnât a total loss, as the team showed improvement from the first half to the second.
LARWILL â Whitko honored its seniors Thursday night against Rochester.
Though the Wildcats lost 6-3 to the Zebras, the âCats won a bigger battle before the season started, getting an IHSAA sanctioned soccer team at Whitko.
Before action got underway Thursday night, Whitko honored its three seniors; Scott Paulus, Jordan Sims and Jacob Ray.
Head Coach Jason Ehrman spoke about the graduating seniors and the impact they had on the program.
COLUMBIA CITY â The Columbia City Lady Eagles volleyball team came into Thursdayâs Northeast Hoosier Conference match with the visiting New Haven Lady Bulldogs looking to run the table of this weekâs matches.
After downing Blackhawk Christian Monday and NHC opponent Norwell Tuesday, the Columbia City was prepared to improve to 3-0 in the conference.
The Lady Eagles fought through an inconsistent effort to come from behind in the fifth and final game in a 3-2 marathon win over the Bulldogs, remaining unbeaten in conference play.
