LET LOOSE: Colts fire coach Jim Caldwell after 3 seasons

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Jim Caldwell endured everything thrown at him during his first two seasons as the Colts' coach -- replacing a friend, rebounding from losses and fighting through injuries.

Not having Peyton Manning around in 2011 was just too much.

Caldwell was fired Tuesday, a little more than two weeks after the Colts' worst season in two decades.

"This is obviously a big transitional time for us, but I know we're excited moving forward and it's hard when you say goodbyes to some people," team owner Jim Irsay said. "But it's part of the business."

PATRIOT PROTEST PLANNED… State, locals chime in on police entry ruling

COLUMBIA CITY – While state legislators are considering a bill that would give Indiana homeowners limited rights to resist police officers trying to enter their homes, local citizens are trying to voice their opinion on the subject.
The Whitley County Patriots had planned to demonstrate near Parkview Whitley Hospital today in opposition of Indiana Supreme Court Justice Steve David, who was scheduled to address the Columbia City Rotary Club.
The Patriots announced their plans over the weekend. The meeting was moved to an alternate location.

WACKY WEATHER : Thunderstorms, heavy rain, fog – then dropping temperatures

Whitley County awoke Tuesday morning to a hodge-podge of spring weather in mid-January.

Mid-50 degree temperatures, thunderstorms and heavy rain passed through the area with possible fog to follow. Temps are to drop throughout the day.
