COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s boys basketball team was feeling a little extra blue after losing its second game in a row Friday night. The Eagles wore blue jerseys in support of prostate cancer awareness and auctioned them during the game, raising over $3,000.
Unfortunately, Columbia City (10-3) wasn’t as successful on the court, losing 69-63 to New Haven (9-2).
CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco Eagle basketball came into Friday’s game looking to extend its winning record to 8-5, hosting Northeast Corner Conference rival Central Noble. ’Busco did so in a convincing fashion, downing the Cougars, 60-43.
In the first half, the game provided the typical feel of an intra-conference rivalry game, according to Churubusco Head Coach Michael McBride.
“It was a good battle, a good game; big rivalry, big crowds. (There was) a lot of excitement and intensity out there. It’s a great atmosphere for our kids and a great win for our kids tonight,” McBride said.
