MENTONE: Man arrested in 2 counties for bad checks

COLUMBIA CITY — Police are saying that a Mentone man’s propensity for writing bogus checks over more than 10 years has finally caught up to him.
Matthew S. Shepherd, 31, was arrested at 3:30 a.m. by Warsaw police. According to a press release by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Shepherd was wanted in that county on 15 active warrants for check deception dating back to 2001.
KCSD spokeman Sgt. Chad Hill said Shepherd is also wanted on active warrants in at least three other counties, including Whitley.
