LEAF PICKUP: On a roll

COLUMBIA CITY — The Columbia City Street Department’s goal is for leaf pick up trucks to service the city each week.

“In the past, there have been weeks where it’s all we can do to get through the city in a week. We then go back through it the next week,” said Cearbaugh. “We have two machines, one for each side of the city, and if one side gets done before the end of the week, they try to help the other side.”

November 3, 2012

CHURUBUSCO — While Churubusco’s football season seemingly ended the same as it did last year — a lopsided loss at Bishop Luers.

But Friday’s 21-0 score is hardly comparable to last season’s 34-7 loss to the Knights.

The Eagles held the score to a one-possession game for the first 39 minutes of play, had several threatening offensive drives and a defense that forced Luers to multiple 4th-and-longs. The Knights were scoreless for two quarters, only reaching the end zone in the final seven minutes.
