COLUMBIA CITY — Greatbatch Medical, which has a manufacturing facility in Park 30 industrial park, just east of Columbia City, has announced a strategic alliance and exclusive sales distribution agreement with ECA Medical Instruments® for its Single Procedure and Single Use Orthopaedic Surgical Instrumentation in the United States, Canada and Europe.
The newly executed partnership introduces the world’s first and only disposable torque limiting and ratcheting surgical drivers.

Churubusco boys down NECC Hamilton, 62-25

HAMILTON — Churu-busco’s boys basketball squad traveled to Northeast Corner Conference foe Hamilton Thursday night. The Eagles put the Marines away early, holding the hosts scoreless for the first fourteen minutes of play on their way to a dominating 62-25 win.

Eagles snap 4-game losing streak

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s boys basketball team broke a four-game losing streak Thursday night at home against Carroll.

The Eagles beat the Chargers by 10 points earlier this season at the holiday tournament and won 45-39 in the official Northeast Hoosier Conference match-up.

The low-scoring game had only eight Columbia City field goals in the entire 32 minutes.

Both teams only had three points each after over four minutes of play and Carroll finished the first quarter with the lead, 13-8.

ELECTION 2012: Reimers running again

COLUMBIA CITY — As primaries draw near, Whitley County Councilman At-Large Paula Reimers is again throwing her hat in the ring. Currently, she joins five other Republicans and one Democrat who have given their notice to run prior to the Feb. 10 deadline. Reimers was elected Whitley County Councilman At-Large in 2010.
