Indian Springs Middles School wrestlers finished their season with second place finishes in the conference meet.
Easter Egg Hunt April 7
An Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Tri Lakes Baptist Church Saturday, April 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 am.
The event is for any child between the ages of three and the fifth grade.
Activities will consist of game time, story time, puppets, Egg Roll and an Egg Hunt. Bags will be provided for each child.
Also, there may be a special appearance by a very large chicken. The event is free of charge.

COLUMBIA CITY — Churubusco’s boys and Columbia City’s girls won the Eel River Rivalry track meet Thursday night at Columbia City.
Churubusco won the boys meet by 17 points over Whitko and 23 points over Columbia City (69-52-46).
Columbia City’s girls defeated Churubusco by 13 points and Whitko by 33 (71-58-38).
COLUMBIA CITY — Whitley County Consolidated School Director of Business and Operations Tony Zickgraf gave a report to WCCS board members on the finalized 2012 budget last week. Though the budget was approved by the board itself late in 2011, there is a lengthy proposal and adjustment process it must go through with the state before receiving a final approval; thus, an early 2012 time-frame is not uncommon.
Zickgraf’s report provided all the numbers and focused on the comparison between 2012 and 2011.
SOUTH WHITLEY — Phase II of the waste water treatment facility project continues to prosper as project manager David Harvey with Fleis and Vandenbrink presented the South Whitley town council with partial payment application number three to Gerig-Ottenweller, who is the contractor for the project.
Fleis and Vandenbrink provides a wide-range of service for municipal, industrial, institutional, commercial and private development clients.
COLUMBIA CITY — By unanimous vote and with a price tag of $14,500, Wigent Excavating was awarded the DeVol Field project by Columbia City Park Board members at its monthly meeting Monday evening. Improvements include grating, tile and drainage.

COLLAMER — Indiana State Police are saying alcohol appears to be a factor in a one-vehicle crash early this morning involving two Whitley County adults and one unidentified 15-year-old, all of whom were injured in the crash.
According to the ISP, a vehicle driven by Trenton A. Gable, 21, 514 S. Line St., South Whitley, left the roadway at 4519 S. CR 900 W. near Collamer.
Police report the vehicle struck a utility pole, a cement post, rolled onto its top and then struck a tree. The accident report said seatbelts were not used.
