COLUMBIA CITY â€” Austin L. Waller, 18, pleaded guilty in Whitley County Circuit Court Monday to aiding in dealing in methamphetamine.
Due to Wallerâ€™s plea agreement, he will be charged with aiding in the dealing of methamphetamine, a Class B felony, with four other counts against him dismissed.
A sentencing date is scheduled for Oct. 15 where Waller could face six to 20 years and a fine of up to $10,000.
The plea came after Waller was arrested July 1, along with Terrance M. Ward, 30, on reports of a chemical odor coming from Apartment 3, 315 S. Main St., Columbia City.
WARSAW â€” Columbia Cityâ€™s girls golf season opened Monday morning at the same place it ended last year â€”Stonehenge.
The Lady Eagles were bested by a strong Warsaw team, which opened its season with a score of 184. Columbia City shot a 224. Last seasonâ€™s sectional match was held at Stonehenge, where both Columbia City and Whitko saw the end of their seasons.
Though as a team the Lady Eagles lost by a significant margin, Columbia Cityâ€™s No. 1 linkster Jackie Leeuw shot just one-over Warsawâ€™s medalists with a 45. Lady Tigers Nikke Lalonde and Beth Meadows both fired 44s.
SOUTH WHITLEY â€” A Whitley County official was arrested Monday afternoon on official misconduct and battery charges.
Roland "Ron" King, 74, of South Whitley, Cleveland Township Trustee, is charged with three felonies and three misdemeanors after a one-month long investigation.
According to Indiana State Police Detective Kevin Smith, a complaint was made to the South Whitley Police Department alleging that King inappropriately touched three women at the Cleveland Township Trusteeâ€™s office.
The misconduct allegedly occurred between June 10, 2011 and June 11, 2012.
