COLUMBIA CITY â€” On Friday and Saturday, Morsches Park will welcome Whitley County residents to gather for fall fanfare and celebration.
The rescheduled fireworks display has now allowed for a weekend of food, music and entertainment. At 5 p.m. Friday, food vendors and bounce houses will open. An Elementary Mile Championship Run will kick off at 5:30 p.m. This will feature over 700 cross country runners in grades three through five. The night will close with a concert by Bluebird Revival at 6 p.m.
Saturday, the park will open at 8 a.m. to host the farmerâ€™s market.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Susan Christman, WCCSâ€™s director of special education, Sue Corbin, the corporationâ€™s assistant director for special education, as well as Melissa Dubie, with the Indiana Resource Center for Autism, are preparing to attend a national conference in Ohio on autism in November.
The welcome came after a proposal was written by the three individuals detailing the work the local school corporation has accomplished to meet the needs of autistic students.
Patricia A. Maroney, 75, of Columbia City, died at 7:48 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake.
She was born Jan. 8, 1937, in Highland Park, Mich., a daughter of the late Henry H. and Margaret C. (Kendall) Bowman.
Her formative years were spent in the Detroit area. She graduated from Redford High School in 1953. She began college at Michigan State University and completed her bachelorâ€™s degree at Wayne State University in business with a minor in psychology.
