WCCS wraps up end-of-year financials

COLUMBIA CITY — Whitley County Consolidated Schools took steps to complete its end-of-year financials at last week’s meeting.

WCCS Business Manager Tony Zickgraf approached the Board of Trustees last Monday, requesting its approval of several financial projects to end the year.

The board first approved a reduction-resolution for the 2014 budget.

Junk ordinance raises controversy

COLUMBIA CITY — What began as a violation of the county junk ordinance has evolved into court-ordered clean up with additional investigations pending.

Whitley County Commissioners worked with health and safety officials to declare the property of Thomas Ebetino, located at County Road 400 South, in violation of the junk ordinance and the home was deemed unsafe for several reasons.
