CHURUBUSCO â A four-run first inning was all the Churubusco team needed to earn a win in its season opener.
The Eagles would go on to add four more runs throughout the game on their way to an 8-0 victory over Woodlan.
Brent Simmons was dominant on the mound for the Eagles. In six innings of shutout work, the junior allowed only one hit. Simmons also struck out 11 batters. Hayden Kilgore closed the game out for âBusco on the mound with a perfect seventh inning.

âThe Passion and Crucifixion: A Physicianâs Perspectiveâ is the title of the churchâs community Good Friday serviceat 7 p.m. Dr. Dave Johnson will offer a presentation on the sufferings and death of Jesus Christ. Johnson combines scriptural teachings with historical writings, archeological evidence and medical research. All are invited. There is no cost. The offering will be given to the community transient needs fund.

INDIANAPOLIS â Fort Wayne physician, Dr. William Hedrick, was told he could continue with his medical practice while on probation, according to area media.
Indiana Medical Licensing Board placed him on probation for two years after finding three violations related to his pain clinic practice.
The group said he breached standard of care in at least one case, failed in properly supervising his employees, and overused steroid injections in the spine.
The board cleared Hedrick of three other counts.
