COLUMBIA CITY â€” A man is facing six felony charges after he allegedly attempted to rape a 13-year-old girl in Columbia City early Friday morning.
Dustin A. Nimtz, 18, of Columbia City, allegedly broke into an apartment at Park Terrace â€” armed with a deadly weapon.
According to court records, Nemitz then forced the victim to perform sexual acts on him.
Nemitz pleaded not guilty in Whitley County Circuit Court Monday morning to all six felony charges, including attempted rape and molesting, burglary and strangulation.
Some Whitley County residents are questioning Columbia City High Schoolâ€™s black uniforms in many sports, such as football, basketball and cheerleading.
Columbia Cityâ€™s football team is expected to return to the traditional maroon color this season.

Charles â€śChuckâ€ť F. Pugh, 55, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013, at his home. He was born July 29, 1957, in Marion and then moved to Whitley County. In 2001, he moved to Ft. Wayne.
He had worked at Passages in Columbia City from 1991 until May of 2000. He loved listening to classical music and enjoyed joking around and teasing others.
Chuck leaves behind many friends and loving caregivers. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
The Columbia City Water Department will be flushing fire hydrants today through Friday.
