CHURUBUSCO â€” Two friends put their heads together to offer a local experience built off of what they both love in life â€” music.
Nate Norris, of Churubusco, and Nicholas Weaver, of Fort Wayne, have attended several music festivals and have a growing appreciation for local talent.
â€śWe had seen so many festivals become overrated and saturated with sponsorships,â€ť Weaver said. â€śWe thought it would be good to have a festival that wasnâ€™t about the hype, but about the music. We also wanted a stage to showcase independent talent.â€ť
MANCHESTER â€” Whitkoâ€™s girls golf team lost a Three Rivers Conference match-up to Wabash Monday.
The visiting Lady Apaches beat the Lady Wildcats, 202-217 at Sycamore Golf Club.
Whitko had a more balanced attack, with Kirsten Crawford having a 51 to pace her team, which had five golfers in the 50s.
That did not match up with the top two from Wabash, though. Jordan Rauh led the Lady Apaches with a 41, and Jaclyn Lewis had 47.
CHURUBUSCO â€” Churubuscoâ€™s volleyball team hosted and swept county-rival Whitko Tuesday night.
The Lady Eagles took a 25-15 win in game one, 25-18 advantage in game two, and pulled off a close, 25-22 win in the third and final game.
Alyssa Anderson tallied nine aces for the Lady Eagles. Teammate Lacey Pulley had 11 assists, and Danielle Pippenger recorded two blocks.
â€™Buscoâ€™s Molly Green had six digs.
