COLUMBIA CITY ‚ÄĒ Citizens interested in the future of aquatics in Columbia City will have a chance to give their opinion next week.
Park Director Mark Green said there will be a public forum to discuss the future of aquatics, both in Columbia City and Whitley County, Tuesday at 7 p.m. at City Hall in the Columbia City Common Council Chamber on the second floor.
Much of this discussion sprang from last year’s announcement that Burnworth Memorial Pool will be holding its last season in the summer of 2014, before it is closed.
FORT WAYNE ‚ÄĒ Nearly 20 Whitley County girls athletes are headed to the Northrop Regional track meet Tuesday.

For Columbia City junior Samantha Roush, its a state finals bid she’s looking for. For Whitko senior Josie Sparks, it’s a school record.
SOUTH WHITLEY ‚ÄĒ ‚ÄúWhat we are seeing here is the byproduct of four years of hard work.‚ÄĚ
Whitko Head Baseball Coach Erik Hisner didn‚Äôt expect to have an undefeated pitcher this far into the season ‚ÄĒ but he does.
Wyatt Wolf, senior, is 5-0 on the season, including throwing a no-hitter earlier this year.
‚ÄúIt‚Äôs not something we emphasize with our pitchers,‚ÄĚ Hisner said. ‚ÄúWe emphasize controlling the controllable. Sometimes you have no control over your win-loss record. What we do have control over is our attitude, effort and competitiveness.‚ÄĚ
