HIGH ENERGY GOSPEL BAND: Blue Bird Revival to perform at Troy Presbyterian

COLUMBIA CITY — Blue Bird Revival, a praise band, will perform at Troy Presbyterian Church Sunday for morning worship at 9:50 a.m.
The band is a unique group from Northeastern Indiana. Blue Bird Revival’s music is best described as Americana, country, blue grass, and gospel.
The group consists of 10 members, with members playing multiple instruments and signing.

CREATIVE DISPLAY: Crowd gathers for Passages art sale

COLUMBIA CITY — Passages, Inc.’s Creative Learning Center was filled with silent auction attendees Thursday evening for the Old & New Art Exhibition and Sale. The event featured artwork created by Passages clients, with approximately 70 pieces on display, from paintings to ceramics to photography.

A new 2014 KME fire pumper and rescue truck was recently delivered and put into operation at the fire department.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBAL: Teams gearing up for scrimmages tonight

LITERACY ASSISTANCE: Council reorganizes to increase literacy

COLUMBIA CITY — Enhancing the literacy of individuals in Whitley County has been the focus of the county’s Literacy Council since 1987.
However, after almost being nonexistent within the past year, the nonprofit has reorganized and is rebuilding its services.

INDOT IN 'BUSCO: Paving project begins

WHITLEY COUNTY — The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Fort Wayne District is working on a paving project in Churubusco today. Motorists can expect delays when traveling US. 33 and Ind. 205 today and Friday as crews work in town limits.

CHURUBUSCO — Smith-Green Community Schools is taking advantage of a new ruling by the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA). Homeschooled students who are enrolled in one or more classes at an Indiana public school are allowed to participate in IHSAA sanctioned sports.
