Natalie Suzanne Bower, daughter of Randall and Tara (Vandagriff) Bower, was stillborn at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Dupont Hospital, Fort Wayne.
In addition to her parents, surviving relatives include a sister, Joy Olivia Bower, at home; grandparents, Jim and Karen Bower of Columbia City and Walter and Martina Vandagriff of Churubusco and great-grandmothers, Bernice Lauer of Columbia City, Jean Ridgley and Margaret Vandagriff, both of Fort Wayne.
A private family service will be held.
Arrangements are being completed by Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
Barbara J. Halsey, 60, of Columbia City, died at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne where she was admitted on July 19.
She was born March 27, 1952, in Columbia City, a daughter of Frank Harold and Dorothy A. (Barnes) Wade Jr. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1970.
On March 30, 1974, she was united in marriage to Lonnie M. Halsey. While Lonnie served in the military, they resided in Germany three times, California and Nebraska before returning to Indiana. In 1986, they moved to their home in Columbia City.

COLUMBIA CITY â A Whitley County home was destroyed in a fire late Wednesday night.
Columbia Township firemen were called to the residence at 856 E. CR 200 S. at approximately 11:45 p.m.
Firemen arrived to the scene to find the garage fully engulfed in flames.
Union Township, Washington Township, Jefferson Township and Columbia City firemen were called to assist with the blaze, which took several hours to put out.
Also on the scene was the Whitley County Fire Investigation Team.
According to fire scanner traffic, everyone inside the house got out of the residence with no injury.
COLUMBIA CITY â A Michigan man was severely injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident.
Michael Plumley, 62, was airlifted to Fort Wayne by Parkview Samaritan with severe head and internal injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car on Ind. 9 near the south county line.
Police were called to the area of 1000 S. Ind. 9 at approximately 5 p.m. after Plumleyâs motorcycle hit a car driven by Denise Brewster, 62, of Huntington.
COLUMBIA CITY â At the Whitley County Consolidated School board work session Monday, Superintendent Dr. Patricia OâConnor shared a memo with the board concerning a report made on Eagle Tech Academy.
OâConnor said Todd Hurst, who is the School Development Coordinator for the Center of Excellence in Leadership and Learning (CELL), was given the task to report to the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) about the progress of Eagle Tech Academy this year.
COLUMBIA CITY â The Whitley County Local Emergency Planning Committee held its meeting Wednesday, mainly discussing updated information concerning earthquakes and the Haz Mat (Hazardous Materials) team.
Catherine Broxon-Ball, director and chairperson of the committee, said she is currently working on updating the earthquake plan.
âSo weâre checking to make sure the buildings we have are sheltered and set up for our earthquake plan,â said Broxon-Ball. âMost of them are schools.â
CHURUBUSCO â Churubusco Jr.-Sr. High School Assistant Principal Andrew Deming resigned at Smith-Green Community Schools board meeting Monday.
âMr. Deming submitted this letter,â said Ralph Bailey, interim superintendent. âHe grew up in the East Noble School District so I guess you could say he went home.â
Demingâs resignation is effective today. He has accepted a position with the EN Middle School.
His letter said âI have come to appreciate and care for the staff and community at Churubusco. However, this position is a more secure and stable career move for me and my family.â
