Awesome!” The one word I found myself repeatedly using on the Indiana Youth Tour Trip to Washington D.C. was an understatement of the experience I had along with 72 other juniors – soon to be seniors — from all over Indiana.
When I received the wonderful news that I had been one of two students, including Joanna Nguyen from Fort Wayne, selected for the trip of a lifetime, I had no idea just how amazing an experience this trip would be and how much I would learn.
Three people were injured in separate crashes over the weekend.
On Saturday, 18-year-old Samantha Reimers was taken to Parkview Whitley Hospital complaining of head pain following a 10:15 a.m. crash at Main and Van Buren streets.
According to Columbia City police, Reimers was was traveling north on Main Street when she ran a redlight and was T-boned by a small pickup truck.
The truck, driven by Robert Love, Jr., 30, was eastbound on Van Buren Street.
