EMS contract signed

COLUMBIA CITY — Following a year of debate, discussion and disagreement, the new Emergency Medical Services contract between Whitley County and Parkview Hospital has been signed.
Monday, Sigler presented the returned contract from Parkview to the commissioners at the board meeting.
“After being reviewed and re-reviewed, commented on and re-commented on… …I have the three documents that make up the EMS agreement, I’m happy to say,” Sigler said.
The first document is the Emergency Medical Services Program Agreement (EMSPA), which outlines the primary terms of the contract.

DESIGNING A RESTAURANT: ISMS math students engage in architecture project

COLUMBIA CITY — Math students at Indiana Springs Middle School planned, designed and presented an architectural project called Restaurant Possible this week. The program is loosely-based on the popular Food Channel show “Restaurant Impossible.”
Math teachers Jill Baker and Cathy Rowe wanted to teach math content that included dimensions and scale.
The project culminated with a scale floor plan including the kitchen, rest rooms, waiting areas and an eating area.
