In existence since January of this year when rehearsals began, the Whitley County Children’s Choir will have their premiere at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Rhinehart Auditorium at IPFW, Fort Wayne followed by a local performance at 7 p.m. Friday at the Columbia City United Methodist Church.
A subsidiary of the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir, the group is the first outreach from that choir, begun after Becky Walter of Columbia City approached them with the idea.
COLUMBIA CITY — A pair of friends and business partners, one with local ties, will soon be the latest merchants to open a new store front in Columbia City.
Bargain City, a discount store, is slated for its grand opening May 7 in the Columbia Plaza Shopping Center.
Columbia City resident Jack Palmer and Tim Slaughter of Fort Wayne have been busy stocking shelves preparing for the store’s debut.

COLUMBIA CITY — All four mayoral candidates spoke Thursday afternoon to senior citizens at the Woodland Senior Center.
The candidate forum featured not only Republican candidates Ryan Daniel, Gary Parrett and Don Sexton but Cathy Heritier, the lone Democrat who is assured her place in the November race for Columbia City’s top elected position.
