COLUMBIA CITY — The showing made by local students in annual statewide testing led the topics of discussion by the Whitley County Consolidated School Corporation’s Board of School Trustees this week.
Superintendent Dr. Patricia O’Connor presented the results to the board, which profiled WCCS students in grades 3-8. Her impressions of the results, as they relate to local students, was anything but pessimistic.

PIERCETON — The Whitko Community School Corporation board of trustees held its regular monthly meeting Monday evening with superintendent Steve Clason presenting a marketing plan update which will soon be implemented.
“We have an ongoing marketing plan and a curriculum plan,” Clason said. “Communication (plan) was due by June and it’s a little bit after June, but we (board) do have a plan in place.”

SOUTH WHITLEY – Indiana State Police said Wednesday afternoon that troopers were called to the residence of a Whitley County “elected official” for a domestic issue.
The Whitley County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed today the incident involved Whitley County Sheriff Mark Hodges and his estranged wife, Laurell.
