SOUTH WHITLEY — The Whitley County Sheriff's Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday evening in southwest Whitley county.

Col. City council mulls 2012 budget

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City Common Council met Tuesday to discuss a variety of topics and meet with the city’s department heads.
Things started by actually adjourning, in order to hold a public meeting to discuss the proposed 2012 budget.

Fleck: City responds to Labor Day Wkd. storm damage

COLUMBIA CITY — Storm damage had several city departments working together over the Labor Day weekend.
On Sep. 3, lightning struck at Blue River Trail during a storm, knocking out the city’s cameras as well as a host of other services.

Longtime nurse recalls Whitley hospital of old

COLUMBIA CITY – Parkview Whitley Hospital likely will be razed – and it’s time to say goodbye. Many local residents are fondly remembering the health care facility.
Tunker resident Mary (Bollinger) Thomas was a nurse at the local hospital beginning in 1959, retiring in 2000. She recently took a walk down memory lane with The Post & Mail concerning her career and the many changes in medicine.

Pierceton couple busted for meth
