COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City Police Department’s Tim Longenbaugh moved from the detective’s office to the chief’s office last week, after Mayor Ryan Daniel chose him as the city’s new police chief.
Shortly after he learned of his new position, Longenbaugh named fellow detective Tony Hively as his Captain. Hively and Longenbaugh have been working together as detectives for Columbia City since 2002, and will now be working together to manage the CCPD.
The pair has investigated a bank robbery, numerous armed robberies, death investigations and child molesting cases.
COLUMBIA CITY – Larwill resident and former treasurer of the Union Township Fire Department Nichole Potts was in court Monday to face charges of theft, stemming from allegations that she took an estimated $28,000 from the department.
According to Fire Chief Chad Radke, Potts took over the duties of treasurer in June of 2011, when the then treasurer moved out of township.
Part of her duties were to give a monthly expense report, which Radke said were only bank totals with no beginning balances or itemized statements.
