COLUMBIA CITY — SRI Incorporated, a firm that conducts tax sales, deed sales, and foreclosure sales on the Internet or in-person for local government clients, extended its partnership with Whitley County Tuesday regarding an upcoming tax sale.
SRI President Tim Rushenberg appeared before the Whitley County Board of Commissioners to present three contracts necessary to conduct the sale.
ALBION – Denise Lemmon, of rural Albion formally filed Wednesday her intent to seek the Republican nomination for State Representative in the newly formed 82nd State House district.
The new 82nd State House district covers all of Noble County, as well as portions of Allen, Whitley, Elkhart, and LaGrange counties.
Lemmon’s declaration of candidacy will be filed with the County Clerk’s Offices of each of the district’s counties prior to being submitted to the Indiana Election Division.
Emanuel Geiger will be 100 years old Jan. 16, 2012.
On Sunday, Jan. 22, an open house will be held in his honor, 2 to 4 p.m., at the Churubusco Nazarene Church Christian Life Center, 1000 W. Whitley St., in Churubusco.

Geiger was born in Rome City on Jan. 16, 1912 to Emanuel A. and Matilda (McCoy) Geiger. He was the yougest of nine children.
Emanuel Geiger married Mabel M. (Cotton) April 17, 1929. She is deceased.
The Whitley County Plan Commission will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the lower level conference room of the Whitley County Government Center.
On the agenda is the election of 2012 officers, and discussion regarding the potential wind ordinance.

COLUMBIA CITY — The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) awards NFHS Citations to one athletic director from each of the eight regions the country is divided into.
Last month at the National Athletic Director’s Conference in Indianapolis, Columbia City High School Athletic Director Geoff Penrod received just such a citation for Region IV.
