COLUMBIA CITY — The Whitley County Board of Commissioners had a full slate of business in front of them when they met last week following the holiday. Several contracts and permits for construction were among the items discussed.
A previously discussed contract to renew with the facility used to house juvenile inmates that was tabled while wording was changed has been signed.
The Columbia City Board of Works will meet today at 5:15 p.m. in the conference room at City Hall for a regular session.

INDIANAPOLIS — Julia A. Wickard, executive director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Indiana Farm Service Agency (FSA) is reminding producers that signup to enroll in the 2012 Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program (DCP) or Average Crop Revenue Election (ACRE) begins today and runs through June 1.
