COLUMBIA CITY — Two Churubusco brothers appeared in Whitley County Circuit Court Monday for an initial hearing after a search warrant turned up drugs at their residence last week.
Benjamin, 30, and Andrew Greer, 28, were arrested on methamphetamine and marijuana charges after the Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team (ERT) searched their home at 7755 E. CR 150 N. on Nov. 15.
According to a case report by the Whitley County Drug Task Force, before the search, ERT officers witnessed Andrew throwing items out of the upstairs window onto a lower roof.
SOUTH WHITLEY — Like a fresh wound, the memory of Anthony Wagner’s death is a sensitive and raw memory for Travis Leon — even after a decade has past.
Wagner, of South Whitley, and Leon, of Fort Wayne, were childhood friends and found themselves in the 293rd National Guard Division of Indiana in 2002.
Wagner joined the National Guard in 2001, a little more than a month after his 21st birthday. Leon was right behind him.
Private First Class Wagner received notice in October of 2002 that he had been activated and would be leaving the states to serve in Iraq.

Tucker first served as a WCCS Jefferson Township board member seven years ago, when he was approached by board members and asked to consider the job.
