A narrow band of snowfall resulted in five inches of snow in Churubusco Saturday morning. But, that didn’t stop the Skinner family (at right) from building a huge snowman. Left to right are Desiree, Sam, Josh and Wes Skinner of Churubusco. “Winter has finally come to us,” remarked mom, Desiree. The finished product was said to be a likeness of New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning who won the Super Bowl Sunday on his brother Peyton’s turf in Indianapolis. “I was shoveling the snow and it was so heavy,” said Josh Skinner.
COLUMBIA CITY — Princesses and Prince Charmings were all the rage on Friday night in Columbia City. Hundreds of fathers and daughters attended the seventh annual Father Daughter Dance at First Church of God Friday night. The event was sponsored by Columbia City Parks and several area businesses.
The dads dressed in their finest and daughters, looking like princesses, were able to get their portraits taken by a local photographer. A catered dinner by Jill Daniel featured a crowd favorite, macaroni and cheese.
