COLUMBIA CITY â The Walgreens Pharmacy in Columbia City was robbed at approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Columbia City Police Chief Tim Longenbaugh, the suspect was described as a white male, 5'7" to 5'10", with a medium build and red facial hair. He was reported wearing a black hat, black jacket and blue jeans.
According to police scanner traffic he was believed to get in a vehicle near carriage house flowers and headed southbound on Line St.
Columbia City and Indiana State Police are investigating the scene.
CHURUBUSCO â âJust bite the bullet and complete this entire project,â said Mel Egolf, former Smith-Green Community school board member and Noble County farmer.
That was said during a public work session Monday night in Churubusco.
Members of the board were discussing with the public the proposed building plan, presented to them by the Strategic Planning Committee of the school.
Superintendent Steve Darnell heads that committee and explained the process of the plan.
âWe met for five months,â said Darnell.
Judy Platt doesnât like the spotlight, but thatâs exactly what she got at Mondayâs Smith-Green Community School Board meeting.
Platt was honored as the Teacher of the Month.
Platt has taught fourth grade at Churubusco Elementary School for 22 years. She began her teaching career while working for Cindy Zollinger, also a fourth teacher at CES.
âJudy came in with a passion for students from the very beginning and continues with that same intense passion today,â said Zollinger.
The gym floor of Churubusco High School was rockin' during Saturdayâs Zumba-thon, which had 35 women getting fit, rocking out and having a blast at the inaugural event designed to raise money for the upcoming Churubusco Junior-Senior High School aerobics class. The Zumba instructor was Kellie (Barker) Malone (pictured), of Kendallville. Silent auction items and baked goods were donated by several area businesses and students.
