COLUMBIA CITY â€” When card holders visit the Peabody Public Library, Columbia City, books are not the only things on display.
What was once seen as an educational resource bound by cover and conveyed in writing, the libraryâ€™s services span several mediums.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Rotary Clubs are known for their civic investment in communities throughout the year. However, Rotarians in Columbia City are giving back in a way that requires time, sacrifice and service.
A community Thanksgiving dinner will be served by the organization on Thanksgiving day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the 4-H Center in Columbia City.
The meal is offered at no charge, but freewill donations are accepted. Proceeds from the dinner will go to food banks in Whitley County.
WHITLEY COUNTY â€” The same storm system that swept through Illinois, killing six and destroying hundreds of homes, passed through Whitley County Sunday afternoon with minor damage in comparison.
The National Weather Service predicted a 30 percent chance of tornados in Whitley County, along with much of Northeast Indiana.
Storm cells with rotation entered Whitley County, prompting tornado warnings in the northern and southern parts of the county, but fortunately for local residents, storm damage was minimal Sunday.
