COLUMBIA CITY — Although some legislative initiatives are coming under fire at the Statehouse, Ind. Gov. Mike Pence’s proposed tax credit for adoptive families is receiving much support.
Pence announced in late December that he wants to make Indiana the nation’s “most pro-adoption state” by implementing the tax credit, forming a study committee to explore faith-based and community adoption programs and finding ways to better link the state’s adoption services.
Dustin and Amanda Petrosky, adoptive parents from Columbia City, are “excited” about the news of a state tax incentive.

“It’s been an honor to serve alongside him as an officer, but most importantly, as a friend,” said Mike Christie, an investigator for the Whitley County Prosecutor’s Office and former WCSD deputy.
