Whitko Community School Corporation will hold an informational meeting Monday to discuss the renovation of South Whitley Elementary School which is scheduled to begin during the 2014-15 school year.
The design plans of the building and the impact on students during the project will be presented.
Parents, staff and community members are encouraged to attend. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at South Whitley Elementary School.
The districtâ€™s school board meeting will still be held Monday at 6:30 p.m., but at SWES, before the public meeting.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” With an extra week of vacation last week due to the winter storm, many parents and students are concerned about the school year being extended into the summer.

SOUTH WHITLEY â€” South Whitleyâ€™s Town Council is under new leadership as of Tuesday, when town leaders voted Councilman Bill Boggs as the 2014 president.
Boggs started his term with a community concern brought to the council by Council Vice President Tony Starkey, former president.
South Whitley Elementary School is due for a remodeling project that will begin as the school year comes to a close.
However, the construction project means South Whitley Community Preschool will be forced to relocate.
PIERCETON â€” Community members are encouraged to attend two special meetings regarding construction projects at Whitko Community School Corporation.
Monday, board members will hold their regular meeting at South Whitley Elementary School, starting at 6:30 p.m.
After a short agenda, the meeting will open up to discuss the remodeling project at SWES.
Plans and schematics will be made available to those who attend, and school officials will map out changes parents and students can expect.
