Case moves forward for man accused of meth manufacture

COLUMBIA CITY — A man accused of manufacturing methamphetamine, among other drug charges, had an attorney appointed for him by Whitley County Circuit Court Monday.

Judge James Heuer appointed Jeffrey T. Jones, Jr., to represent Nathan Fugate.

Fugate was arrested in January. At his initial hearing, Fugate informed Heuer that he would have private counsel.

At a hearing Monday, Fugate told Heuer he needed a public defender and was appointed Jones.
