Chili cook off to raise funds for charity

COLUMBIA CITY — A chili cook off will be held Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Columbia City United Methodist Church, located at 605 N. Forest Parkway, Columbia City.
The cook off is opened to the public. Eleven teams will vie for bragging rights and the Golden Ladle Award.
The event will raise funds for local missions and church ministries. The cost is $5 at the door, per person, to taste all 11 varieties of chili. Included in the cost is a dinner, which is comprised of a grilled cheese sandwich, homemade cookies and beverage.

Teresa Ousley, of Columbia City, was born in Louisville, Ky.
She is a stay at home mom, and in her free time, she goes to church, draws, and volunteers at different places and events. She has lived in Columbia City for eight years.

P&M: What is your favorite wild animal?
Ousley: “A tiger”

Ousley: “I see someone I know everywhere I go.”
P&M: If you could go back to high school, what would you do differently?
Ousley: “I would be more out going.”

COLUMBIA CITY — “Popular prognosticator” and “witty concerned citizen,” Jim O’Donnell, returned to Columbia City for his annual discussion regarding the twists and turns of the global and U.S. economy.

O’Donnell took a comedic and casual approach to a serious topic — investments and money management.

The financial and investment luncheon was sponsored by the Whitley County Chamber of Commerce and was held Friday at Parkview Whitley Hospital.
