WHITLEY COUNTY â€” Looking ahead to the future health and stability of Whitley County and its economic center â€“ Columbia City â€“ a coalition of local officials is in the process of working with the Indiana Department of Transportation.
WHITLEY COUNTY â€” With the onset of colder weather and the coming of the Christmas holiday season, Whitley County residents face the double-whammy of increased heating sources and holiday lighting â€“ which could lead to a potentially tragic house fire.
Statistics from the National Fire Protection Association give insight into the deadly nature of fires in the holiday season.
CHURUBUSCO â€” With only 16 days remaining until Christmas, students at Churubusco Jr./Sr. High School have long been prepared for their contribution to the seasonâ€™s charitable giving.
Adorning the entrance of the school is a decorated Christmas tree festooned with traditional ornaments and special handcrafted paper ones.
SOUTH WHITLEY â€” For most high school students Saturday is a day to get away from the rigors of the classroom, but more than 90 Whitko High School students spent a Saturday in late November in sessions aimed at increasing their preparations for and scores on the Advanced Placement tests in Math, Science and English.

COLUMBIA CITY â€” In a game separated by a single point at the half and again going into the final quarter, the little things made a difference â€” an unforced turnover, a missed free throw, a missed defensive assignment. Those little things cost the Columbia City boys as visiting Northrop knocked down a wide-open three from the corner with less than 10 seconds in the game to take a 46-45 win Friday night at the Donald S. Weeks Gymnasium.
Christmas spirit and pageantry filled the Whitley County Courthouse Square in Columbia City Friday evening.
