William H. Davis, 74, a resident of Garrett and formerly of Avilla, passed away at 10:42 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio April 22, 1936, a son of Henry William and Izola (Clark) Davis. He was a U. S. Navy veteran.
The surviving relatives include his partner, Barbara J. Kapelka of Garrett; six children, Terri Calderon, Kim White, Jackie Gullett, Dan Davis, Theresa Ford and Pam Tovar; and a brother, Ted Davis.
Cheryl Ann (Sheppard) Loughlin, 62, of Newport Beach, Calif. and formerly of Warsaw, passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 in Newport Beach, of ovarian cancer which was diagnosed in 2007.
She was born Jan. 27, 1948 in Indianapolis to Eugene Gilbert Sheppard and Helen Faye (Bales) Sheppard, and was raised in South Whitley, Indiana. She was married to Michael B. Loughlin, who survives. They were divorced in 1979.
Joan N. Swing, 80, of South Whitley, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 at Renaissance Village where she had been a resident since July 2008.
She was born March 9, 1930 in Huntington, a daughter of Russell and Pauline (Burman) Smith. She graduated from Huntington High School.
On April 24, 1949 she was united in marriage to Dick C. Swing. They made their home in Roanoke until 1952 when they moved to South Whitley.
Brayden Carlos Silvestre, five months, died unexpectedly at 5:44 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne. He was a son of Carlos and Brandy (Platt) Silvestre.
