William ‚ÄúBill‚ÄĚ Chester Sprowl, 61, of Columbia City, died at 9:52 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010 at his residence. Born April 26, 1949 in Marion, he was a son of Chester H. and Charlotte May (Carter) Sprowl.
On February, 24, 2007 he married Renee Herendeen in Columbia City.
Glenn Paul Frank, 86, of Columbia City, died at 6:55 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at The Oaks where he had been a resident for the past four years.
He was born June 29, 1924 in Portland, a son of Herman R. and Amelia Marie (Fox) Frank. In 1929, the family moved to Columbia City and established the H.R. Frank and Sons Greenhouse. Frank graduated from Columbia City High School in 1942.
Delmar ‚ÄúDel‚ÄĚ Auer, 80, of rural Columbia City, died at 1:37 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at Parkview Whitley Hospital.
He was born Dec. 10, 1929 in Whitley County, a son of John and Frances (Flaugher) Auer. His formative years were spent in Columbia City. He graduated from Columbia City High School in 1948. He then completed his Associate Degree at International Business College, Fort Wayne.
Lecinda Marie Kiesling, 72, of rural Columbia City, died at 2:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at her home.
She was born July 19, 1938 in Wolf Lake a daughter of Prentiss and Dortha (Daisy) Miller. Her formative years were spent in Wolf Lake. She graduated from Wolf Lake High School.
Charles R. ‚ÄúRandy‚ÄĚ Ware, 58, went to be with his heavenly Father Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010. Born Oct. 19, 1952 in Bluffton, he was a son of Charles Ray (Leota) Ware and Margaret ‚ÄúPeg‚ÄĚ Roeger. He was a volunteer at Broadway Christian Church where he was also a member and was affiliated with ‚ÄúIn As Much Ministries,‚ÄĚ and was the former owner of ‚ÄėBusco Bait and Tackle.
Thorson Allen Howe, 95, a resident of Round Lake, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 in the Miller‚Äôs Merry Manor, Columbia City.
He graduated from the Geneva High School and International Business College, served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart for wounds incurred at the Battle of the Bulge.
Patricia Ann Slagal, 68, of Columbia City, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne where she was admitted on Saturday.
She was born Dec. 2, 1941 in Fort Wayne a daughter of Lorane H. and Ruth Frances (Harroff) Carter. Her formative years were spent in Fort Wayne.
She graduated from Central High School with the class of 1960.
On Aug. 15, 1964 she was united in marriage to Gary Lee Slagal. They made their home in Fort Wayne, later moving to Tri-Lakes to pursue her passion of breeding and raising miniature dachshunds.
Roger L. Albertson, 67, died at 8:50 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010 in his Winona Lake residence.
He was born July 1, 1943 in Pierceton, a son of Rouff and Bertha (Bell) Albertson. He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County.
On June 30, 2001 he married Pamela Slusher in Milford. He worked in the maintenance department of Kimble Glass for 35 years, retiring in 2008.
Joan L. Johnson, 74, formerly of Columbia City, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010 at Martin Memorial Hospital North in Stuart, Fla.
She was born April 13, 1936 in Peru, Ind. a daughter of Dalbert D. and Pauline L. (Bruner) Gibson. In 1947 her family moved to a farm near South Whitley from Fort Wayne. She graduated from Washington Center High School.
Roy G. ‚ÄúSam‚ÄĚ McCoy, 96, of Jefferson Township, Whitley County, died at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at Renaissance Village where he had been a resident since September.
He was born Oct. 7, 1914 in Washington Township, Whitley County, a son of Orin Hubert and Edna Mae (Schinbeckler) McCoy. In 1926 his family moved to Jefferson Township. He graduated from Jefferson Center High School in 1933.
