SOUTH WHITLEY â Thomas J. Stump, 62, a South Whitley resident, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, following a fall from the balcony of a large barn near Harrisburg, Ill.
He was born June 14, 1949, in Kimmell, a son of Samuel Lewis and Betty Jean (Palmer) Stump.
His formative years were spent in Syracuse and North Webster. He graduated from Columbia City High School.
On September 13, 1980 he married Sandra Sue âSamâ Gaff.
They always lived in Kosciusko County, living in North Webster until 1997 when they moved to Mentone. Mrs. Stump died Sept. 1, 2002.
COLUMBIA CITY â Phyllis E. Winebrenner-Dubea, 87, formerly of Columbia City, passed away at 11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at her sonâs home in rural Bluffton.
Born Jan. 27, 1924, in Liberty Mills, she was the daughter of Robert and Evelyn (Calhoun) Fitch.
She was raised in Liberty Mills where she attended school.
Following her first marriage to Carl Winebrenner on July 29, 1941 in Paulding, Ohio, she and her husband established their home in Merriam.
Olive M. Schuman, 95, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at her home surrounded by family.
She was compassionate, nurturing, wise, loving, and an inspiration to the lives she touched.
Olive was born June 26, 1916, the youngest of six children born to Pearl Knott and Katie Wallace.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, William M. Coyle, an infant son Dean D. Coyle and her husband of 36 years, Walter G. Schuman. She was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Lori Thomas.
CHURUBUSCO âJerry Cee Reynolds, 68, a resident of Churubusco, passed away at 9:49 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, after a long illness.
Mr. Reynolds was born April 2, 1943, in Angola, a son of Jessie C. and Bernice Maxine (Rose) Reynolds.
He spent his formative years in Angola, graduating from Angola High School in 1961.
Following his service in the U.S. Army, he worked as a machinist, beginning at General Electric in 1970 and retiring in 2000 as the owner of REM Corp.
On May 16, 1964 he married Chloe (Showalter) Reynolds in Angola.
Phyllis A. Holloway, 73, a resident of Fort Wayne and formerly of Blue Lake near Churubusco, passed away at her home and was found on Friday afternoon, Oct. 21, 2011.
She had been in declining health for some time, but her death was unexpected.
Mrs. Holloway was born in Fort Wayne Nov. 4, 1937, a daughter of Robert and Hazel (Lopshire) Claymiller, and spent her formative years there.
On July 10, 1964, she was married in Fort Wayne to John E. Holloway.
The couple lived there for a period, and had lived at Blue Lake near Churubusco for 10 years, returning to Fort Wayne in 1986.
Frederick D. Schrader, 90, of Columbia City, passed away at 7 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
Born on July 9, 1921 in Columbia City he was the son of Raymond Earl and Francis Marie (Nei) Schrader.
He served in the US Army Air Force during World War II. He was married to Mary C. Combs on Sept. 5, 1964, by Pastor Marion Shroyer in Columbia City.
He was a farmer and was a foreman and planner for General Electric, Fort Wayne.
His memberships included the American Legion Post #98 and Eagles Lodge #1906 both of Columbia City.
