CHURUBUSCO — Margaret (Peggy Getts) Whitcomb, formally of Fish Lake in LaPorte County, died at 9:09 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Whitcomb was born in South Bend, on June 19, 1940, a daughter of Leo E. Lewis and Ester (Bata, Lewis) Hagedorn.
On Jan. 11, 1980, she married Fredrick D. Whitcomb, preceded her in death in 2002.
Betty Ann Snider, 80, of Columbia City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at 11:30 p.m. at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
Born Feb. 5, 1931, in Urbana, she was the daughter of Fred and Fern (Overholser) Gable.
She was a Whitley County resident her entire lifetime and attended Larwill High School.
Her first marriage was to Robert L. Gause and on Jan. 1, 1973, she married her second husband Joseph Snider, Jr. at Jefferson Chapel United Methodist Church.
She worked at Blue Bell, Viking and Parkview Whitley Hospital in the laundry department.
Cletus F. Hart, 91 of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011.
He was born March 14, 1920, to the late John E. and Anna G. (Armand) Hart.
Mr. Hart retired from Fort Wayne Community Schools in 1982 and from Kingston Retirement Center after 10 years.
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3846, a member of American Legion #157 and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Donald Ralph Bowling, Jr., 47, of Titusville, Fla. died Oct. 7, 2011.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ralph Bowling, and his mother, Mary Jeanette Kilgore Bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Wheeler of Titusville; his daughter, Selina Bowling of Jacksonville, his granddaughter, Nataly Gilbert of Jacksonville; and his sister, Leslie Giese.
A memorial service will be held at Great Commission Fellowship, 211 S. Hopkins Ave, Titusville, Fla. on Saturday at 6 p.m..
COLUMBIA CITY — Betty Jean Walter, 85, of Columbia City, died at 2 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Parkview Whitley Hospital where she had been a patient since Nov. 14.
She was born June 4, 1926, in Noble County, a daughter of Guy and Veneita (Earmick) Strouse.
Her formative years were spent on a farm off Ind. 9 near Chain-O-Lakes State Park.
She graduated from Wolf Lake High School.
On May 3, 1945, she was united in marriage to John M. “Jack” Walter. They always made their home in Columbia City.
Her memberships include Tri-Lakes Baptist Church.
Cindy C. Crawford, 39, a resident of Churubusco, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born in St. Petersburg, Fla. on Nov. 25, 1971, a daughter of George Edward and Cindy Charmaine Palecki.
