Carolyn A. Courtney, 74, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011.
Carolyn was born May 21, 1937 and grew up in Larwill, working at Jecto Plastics for 14 years.
She was a member of American Legion Post 47 Auxiliary and enjoyed shopping.
SOUTH WHITLEY â William A. Bumgardner, 86, of South Whitley, died at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 at Parkview Main, Fort Wayne from injuries sustained in an auto accident Tuesday at the Walgreens parking lot in Huntington.
He was born May 30, 1925 in Fort Wayne, a son of Charles A. âPatâ and Mable (Allen) Bumgardner
His formative years where spent on a farm near Monroeville. He graduated from Decatur High School.
During World War II, he served with the Merchant Marines.

COLUMBIA CITY â Ross Albert Snyder, 92, of rural Columbia City, died at 11:43 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at Millerâs Merry Manor.
He was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Detroit, a son of Albert Thomas and Carol (Miller) Snyder.
During World War II, he served as a flight officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
On Sept. 16, 1942, he was united in marriage to Marjorie M. Hamlin.
COLUMBIA CITY â Jerry E. Schaper, 68, of rural Columbia City, died at 1:52 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Parkview Whitley Hospital where he was admitted Saturday.
He was born Jan. 11, 1943, in Columbia City, a son of Harry J. and Bessie M. (Moore) Schaper.
His formative years were spent in Columbia City. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School.
From 1962 until 1966 he served in the U.S. Army and later the Air National Guard.
While in the Philippines, he was united in marriage to Carmela Bastian on March 20, 1967.

FORT WAYNE â Alexander Dale Measley, 12, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at 12:45 a.m., at Riley Childrenâs Hospital.
He was born in Fort Wayne Dec. 30, 1998, a son of Shelia Hauk-Measley.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his maternal grandparents Ted and Chris Hauk; a great-grandmother Rudy Anklem; and an uncle Thomas Hauk.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the St Johnâs Lutheran Church, Lake Township with Pastor Ralph Easterhaus officiating.
Gene V. Williams, 71, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, in Columbia City.
Born in Allentown, Pa. March 13, 1940, Gene worked as an engineer with GTE.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed Ham radio, (W9JBD), fishing, restoring antique automobiles and was a former president of the Fort Wayne Historical Automobile Association.
COLUMBIA CITY â Sandra Joan Rarick, 70, of Columbia City, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Millerâs Merry Manor, Inc., Columbia City.
Born Jan. 21, 1941, in Whitley County, she was the daughter of George A. and Opal (Snyder) Fahl.
She was a lifetime Whitley County resident and graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1958.
She worked at Dana Weatherhead, Columbia City as a production worker for 17 years. On March 12, 1991, she married Richard Herman Rarick in Columbia City.
Kenneth E. Sherbahn, 94, of South Whitley, passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 at the Peabody Home, North Manchester.
He was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Whitley County, a son of Edgar and Nellie (Ward) Sherbahn.
He graduated from South Whitley High School in 1934. He attended Repperts Auction School in 1938 and started his lifelong career in the auction business in 1947.
On Oct. 18, 1941 he married Vera Penrod. They always made their home in the South Whitley area. Mrs. Sherbahn died Dec. 2, 1994. In 1997 he married Marie Trump, an excellent friend and companion.
