WOLF LAKE â€” Laura Bell Walker, 93, a former resident of Wolf Lake, died at 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Heritage Park senior living, Fort Wayne.
She was born June 14, 1918, in Whitley County, a daughter of Henry and Rada (Grace) Londt.
She began her education at Grace School and completed it at Jefferson Center High School.
On Sept. 26, 1937, she was united in marriage to Clyde W. Walker.
They made their home in Wolf Lake. In 1971, they moved to Crooked Lake. In 2004, she moved to Fort Wayne. Mr. Walker died Nov. 30, 1998.
Jeanette H. Dawson, 83, a resident of rural Huntertown, died at 1:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
She was born Nov. 1, 1928 in Woodburn, a daughter of Herman and Emma (Riebersal) Woebbeking.
On Dec. 27, 1947, she married Max Dawson
He preceded her in death in 1982.
J. LeEtta Wagner, 91, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 8:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor Inc., Columbia City.
Born April 4, 1920, in Jefferson Township, she was the daughter of Lester and Ethel (Hollenbaugh) Brock.
She grew up in Whitley County and Oregon. She attended Laud School and graduated from Jefferson Center High School with the Class of 1938.
After her marriage to Raymond LaVern Wagner on June 14, 1941, in Jefferson Township, they lived in Allen County for 14 years.
CHURUBUSCO â€” Ernest J. Remaklus, 75, a resident of Churubusco, died at 1 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Provena Sacred Heart, Avilla, after a brief illness.
He was born in Fort Wayne Oct. 16, 1936, a son of Paul and Alvira (Schmit) Remaklus.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
On Oct. 2, 1983, he was married in Fort Wayne to Glenda Boschet.
Rev. Terry L. Zolman, 64, a resident of rural Albion and senior pastor of the Merriam Christian Chapel, passed away at 10:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He had suffered a serious fall on Friday, and had been hospitalized since that time.
Pastor Zolman was born in Fort Wayne on July 31, 1947, a son of Clyde D. and Beulah Ella (Shaffer) Zolman.
He spent his formative years in Smith Township, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1965.
COLUMBIA CITY â€“ Max Eugene Sheckler, 75, of Columbia City, passed away at 8:39 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at his home.
Born Dec. 27, 1935, in Columbia City, he was the son of Marshall Luther and Nellie (Engle) Sheckler.
A lifetime Columbia City resident, he attended Columbia City High School.
On March 31, 1956, he married Eunice Kincaid at the parsonage of Rev. Marion Shroyer, Columbia City.
He did general farming, was an auto mechanic and was also a punch press operator at LML Corporation, Columbia City for 40 years.
FORT WAYNE â€” Lewann Carteaux, 73, of Fort Wayne, died on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Carteaux was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on July 25, 1938, to Lewis A. Musselman and Anne Louise (Schwartz) Musselman.
She graduated from Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne in 1956.
Mrs. Carteaux married Francis â€śPeteâ€ť Carteaux on Sept. 1, 1962, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Fort Wayne. He survives in Fort Wayne.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Orval Ray Fisher, 92, of Columbia City, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
Born May 8, 1919 in Thorncreek Township, he was the son of Francis Warner and Lillian L. (Keirn) Fisher.
Orval spent his entire lifetime in the Columbia City area where he graduated from Columbia City High School with the class of 1939.
After graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
PORT STANLEY, Ontario â€” Florence Kathryn â€śKayâ€ť Grice, 88, of Port Stanley, Ontario and formerly of Columbia City, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011.
She was the beloved wife of the late Wm. Reid Grice, who preceded her in death in 2003.
Sheila M. Hammons, 33, of Columbia City, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne where she was admitted Tuesday, Dec. 6.
She was born Sept. 11, 1978, in Whitley County, a daughter of Edward Arnold and Cheryl A. (Brandom) Hammons.
She completed her education at Columbia City Joint High School.
Her employment was with Subway.
