COLUMBIA CITY — Schuyler P. VanVoorst, 90, of Columbia City, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Miller’s Merry Manor where he had been a resident for the past three weeks.
He was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Etna Troy Township, a son of Dale George and Irene Erma (Haney) VanVoorst.
His formative years were spent on a farm in Etna Troy Township.
Following his graduation from Larwill High School in 1939, he began farming with his father.
On June 9, 1945, he was united in marriage to Avis I. Blanchard. They made their first home on a farm in Thorncreek Township.
