Suzanne Loe, 88, of Fort Wayne, died at 4:16 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at her home.
She was born Sept. 4, 1922 in New Orleans, La. a daughter of Joseph E. and Harriette C. (Levi) Schwarz. She enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during World War II.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Phillip C. Loe and two children, Karen A. Loe Shriver and Phillip Todd Loe.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Eberhard Cemetery.
Tammy Lynn â€śMemawâ€ť Hammons, age 51, of Columbia City, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at Parkview Hospital of Fort Wayne. Born Nov. 11, 1959 in Prestonsburg, Ky., she was a daughter of Charles Edward and Emmalene (Shelton) Stumbo.
On Aug. 8, 1989, she married Dane R. Hammons in Pikeville, Ky. A lifetime resident of Indiana, she resided in Whitley County for 28 years. A wife and mother, she was a former employee of Edyâ€™s Ice Cream, Fort Wayne. She attended Eagle Quest Church, Columbia City.
Pauline Bair, 89, a resident of rural Churubusco and widow of Ralph L. Bair, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at her home following an extended illness.
Mrs. Bair was born near Merriam April 17, 1921, a daughter of Tonda and Millie (Winebrenner) Keister. She spent her formative years in that area and graduated from Wolf Lake High School in 1939.
On March 29, 1941 she was married in Noble County to Ralph L. Bair. The couple lived most of their married lives in Green Township in Noble County until moving to their present home west of Churubusco in 1993.
Ralph E. Taylor Sr., 83, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at Millerâ€™s Merry Manor. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a self-employed contractor. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his daughters, Janet (Jeff) Emmons of Fort Wayne, Judine (Richard Pressman) Pressman of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Phillip Taylor of Fort Wayne; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ralph E. Taylor, Jr. May 11, 2009.
Brian N. Wiggs, 31, of Warsaw passed away at 7:31 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Elkhart County. He was born Aug. 12, 1979 in Columbia City to Steven J. and LuAnn B. (Bond) Wiggs.
Besides his parents, survivors include two sons, Blake and Parker Wiggs; a sister, Christine Whirledge; and three brothers, Daniel Wiggs, Arthur Wiggs and Nicholas Wiggs.
A.A. â€śLonâ€ť Clark, 82, of Columbia City, passed away at 10:40 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at The Oaks, Columbia City. Born April 7, 1928 in Rensselaer, Jasper County, he was a son of Roy E. and Dorothy M. (Johnson) Clark.
He served in the United States Army from 1946-1954, including World War II and the Korean War. He married Masayo â€śDebbieâ€ť Clark.
Survivors include his daughters, Melissa Hile and Marsha Dockery; and a brother, John Clark.
At Mr. Clarkâ€™s request there will be no visitation or service.
Marguerite Hill, 98, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Feb. 18, 2011 at Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield. She was born Oct. 5, 1912 in Norwalk, Ohio to Howard and Valla (Evans) Tillson. She married Harry Hill April 10, 1955 in Angola, and he preceded her in death May 4, 1995.
She was a homemaker, and a 1931 graduate of Norwalk High School.
Marguerite is survived by her daughters Aleta McHenry of Punxsutawney, Pa., Barbara (Ronald) Mears-Begue of Columbia City, Louanna Delf of N.C.; nine grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren.
Teresa Jo Trainer, 49, of Waterford, Miss. and formerly of Thorncreek Township, Whitley County, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident west of Churubusco.
She was born Oct. 25, 1961 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Bryce B. and Linda M. (Doan) Elkins Sr. Her formative years were spent in Fort Wayne and later Columbia City. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School.
On Aug. 25, 1984 she was united in marriage to Douglas M. Trainer. They made their home in Thorncreek Township until November 2009 when they moved to Waterford.
