Jack D. Schrader, 61, died Thursday, March 31, 2010 of Oregon City, Ore. He was born May 21, 1949 in Columbia City, a son of Dewitt and Phyllis Schrader.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Schrader; children, Erica Streeton, Sara Schrader and Isaac Schrader; and sister, Ann Akpabio.
A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Hillside Chapel, 1306 7th Street, Oregon City, OR 97045.
Noah Richard Mallane, infant son, of Ian Michael and Victoria Lynne (Parris) Mallane of Columbia City, was stillborn at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Dupont Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Deborah Ann Halsey, 40, of Columbia City, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at her parents’ home. She had been battling cancer.
She was born March 2, 1971, in Columbia City, a daughter of Lonnie and Barbara (Wade) Halsey. As the daughter of a United States Air Force member, her formative years were spent in Germany, California and Nebraska before returning to Indiana. She completed her GED in 1985 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in general studies from IPFW.
She was formerly employed by Precision Plastics and the New China Restaurant, Columbia City.
Rosaline May DeTurk, 83, a resident of Columbia City, died at 9:53 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born Sept. 21, 1927 in Kokomo, a daughter of Clarence and Amanda Christine Miller Gunter. Her formative years were spent in Kokomo, where she graduated from high school.
On June 16, 1948, she was united in marriage to Richard Walter DeTurk. They made their home in Wabash, Peru and North Manchester. Mr. DeTurk died Oct. 26, 2008 and she later moved to Columbia City.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Paul (Rita) DeTurk of Columbia City.
Ted Lamar Ramsey, 74, of Columbia City, died at 4:20 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2010 at The Oaks, Columbia City. Born July 29, 1936 in Kosciusko County, he was a son of Frank and Geraldine (Jellison) Ramsey.
He graduated from South Whitley High School with the Class of 1955. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. For 30 years he worked for Safeway Grocery Stores in California before retiring. He moved to Columbia City in 2006 to be close to family. His memberships included Grace Brethren Church in Sidney.

Margaret L. Menzie, 100, of Pierceton, went to be with the Lord at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake.
The daughter of Carl and Cleo Earnhart, she was born March 12, 1911 in Cromwell. She married Howard Menzie Oct. 21, 1947 in Fort Wayne. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Margaret grew up on a farm near Pierceton. She lived nearly her whole life in the Pierceton area. She graduated from Pierceton High School and also attended Cummins School for elementary school, which was a one-room school northeast of Pierceton.
Michael R. Downs, 65, a resident of rural Churubusco, passed away at 12:43 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City.
He was born Nov. 3, 1945 in Fort Wayne, a son of Archie O. and Clara M. (Wells) Downs.
The surviving relatives include his wife Patricia (Fitch) Downs; two sons, Nicholas Downs and Dustin Downs; and a sister, Melody Plummer.
Eleanor E. Galligher, 83, a former resident near Wolf Lake and widow of Kenneth H. “Bud” Galligher, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla.
She was born in Fort Wayne July 29, 1927, a daughter of Ellsworth and Grace O. (Brinkman) Galbreath.
Among the surviving relatives are her children, Judy Reed, Linda Mason, Barbara Molessa, Karen Nuttle, Patricia Oswald, Kenneth Galligher, Michael Galligher and Steven Galligher.
William L. Kimmel, 80, a resident of rural Churubusco in Allen County, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, in the emergency room at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn.
He was born in Noble County May 14, 1930, a son of George A. and Effa (Owen) Kimmel. He served with the United States Army.
The surviving relatives include his wife, Bonnie L. Leazier; four daughters, Lee Ann Schortgen, Lisa Nicole, Lynn Patrick and Lori Krueckeberg; three sisters, Barbara Rider, Midge Marshall and Lalia Hand.

Michael E. (“Mick” or “Mike”) Hazen, 70, a lifelong resident of Whitley County, died Thursday, March 31, 2011.
Mr. Hazen was born June 21, 1940 to Chalmers and Mildred Hazen. For 38 1/2-plus years he was employed at the General Electric Company in Fort Wayne.
