Martha M. (Johnson) Burnau, 94, passed away at 4 p.m. Nov. 27, 2012, in her home.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1918, in Huntington County, to Flora (Weber) and David Roscoe Johnson.
She married Donald T. Burnau in Markle Jan. 11, 1941. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1993.
Surviving relatives include three sons, one daughter, six grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren and a sister in law.
Marie I. Guhl, 100, of Huntington, passed away 2:53 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Heritage of Huntington.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1912, in Whitley County, daughter of Charles and Bessie Sievers Kneller. Her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Guhl married Raymond Guhl June 18, 1932. He preceded her in death Oct. 26, 1985.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Huntington County Womenâ€™s Club, Monday Club, Huntington County Art Guild and Right to Life and Charter member of the Three Rivers Decorating Club.
Thomas Joseph Martz, 69, formerly of Columbia City, passed away in Columbia, Mo. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, where he had resided for the past 50 years.
He was born in Columbia City Feb. 15, 1943, the youngest son of Joseph and Dora Belle (Barnes) Martz.
He grew up on the David Whiteleather Holstein dairy farm in Thorncreek Township, and graduated from Columbia City High School in 1962. While in high school he was a photographer for The Post & Mail.
Michael H. N. Duckett, 50, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012.
Born in Fort Wayne, Michael was a food service supervisor with Marion VA Hospital.
He was a U.S. Army and National Guard Veteran that enjoyed fishing and loved his family.
Surviving relatives include his sons, Anthony Duckett of Fort Wayne, and Andrew Duckett of Copperton, UT.; brother, James (Michelle) Duckett of Huntington; sister-in-law, Marge Armstrong and grandchildren, Saturnina and Mia.
He was preceded in death by his older brother, Lee.
John E. Meyers, 55, of Whitley County, died at 11:07 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Parkview Oaks where he had been a resident since May.
He was born May 1, 1957, in Fort Wayne, a son of Edward T. and Alice F. (Maguire) Meyers.
His formative years were spent in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Northrop High School and received his Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in Lafayette.
Alex James Trabert, 23, passed away at approximately 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at the scene of an accident in Indianapolis.
Born March 24, 1989, in Columbia City, Alex had been residing in Franklin for the past year.
He is survived by his parents, Walter Richard and Carla Jeanne (Coonrod) Trabert, Jr. of Columbia City; brothers, Jason Trabert of Columbia City, Bryan Trabert of Ballwin, Mo. and Eric Trabert of Muncie; grandparents, Walter and Julia Trabert, Sr. of Columbia City and Gilbert L. Coonrod of Harlan.
Ronald Lee Coolman, 69, of Columbia City, passed away at 6:10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at his home.
Born Aug. 26, 1943, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Donald Ray and Mary Lou (Raber) Coolman.
As a child he lived in Indiana, Arizona and California and he spent his adult lifetime in Roanoke and Whitley County areas. He attended Columbia City Joint High School.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1964-68 during the Vietnam War.
Phillip Marin Dingus, 61, of Whitley County, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at 2:20 p.m. in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He was born Nov. 28, 1950, in Hite, Ky. to Lacy and Pauline (Shepherd) Dingus.
He has lived in Whitley County since 1963. He previously worked for Larwill Products as a wire cutter.
Bonita E. Gamble, 89, of Columbia City, passed away at 12:13 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
Born Jan. 9, 1923, in Whitley County, she was the daughter of Homer J. and Hulda E. (Auer) Ummel.
She was a lifetime resident of Columbia City and graduated from Washington Center High School with the Class of 1941.
Marilyn M. Krom, 69, of High Lake, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at her home. She had been in failing health.
She was born May 14, 1943, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Herbert and Anna Mae (Maas) Alles.
Her formative years were spent in Jefferson Township. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School.
In 1966, she moved to Wilshire, OH until 1989 when she moved to Big Cedar Lake. She was employed 15 years at Noble Wire, retiring in 2005.
On Oct. 27, 2007, she married Rick L. Krom. They have always made their home together at High Lake.
