Dorothy P. Wheeler, 90, of South Whitley, passed away at 9 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at her home.
Born on March 5, 1922, in Leiters Ford, she was the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Fisher) Campbell.
She moved from LaPorte to South Whitley, and lived there for 40 years.
She worked at Dana Weatherhead, Columbia City as an assembler for 15 years. She was a member of New Hope Wesleyan Church, Columbia City.
April 4th
Harry James “Jimmy” Dailey, age 68, of Columbia City, died at 9:28 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Born July 4, 1943, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Harry E. and Mildred L. (Pelkey) Gill-Dailey.
He graduated from Central High School, Fort Wayne with the class of 1962.
After graduation, he served in the Army National Guard of Indiana as a reserve.
He moved from Fort Wayne to Whitley County in 1974.
April 2nd
LARWILL — William F. Branning, 95, of Etna Troy Township, Whitley County, died at 8:08 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Parkview Whitley Hospital Emergency Room where he was transported from his home.
He was born Jan. 15, 1917, in Fort Wayne, a son of Edward H. and Irene F. (Mosshammer) Branning.
His formative years were spent in Aboite Township. In 1937 he moved to Whitley County.
On April 16, 1941, he was inducted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II. He was honorably discharged Aug. 19, 1945.
