Ruth M. Zollinger, 89, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Hamilton House.
Born June 25, 1923, in Ft. Wayne, Ruth worked at L. S. Ayresâ€™ Tea Room. She was a member of St. Patrickâ€™s Catholic Church in Ft. Wayne and loved baking Christmas cookies.
Marquis Jr. Reid, of Columbia City, died at 2:56 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Parkview Oaks where he had been a resident since April.
He was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Richland Township, a son of Mark H. and Lena M. (Hoffert) Reid.
He attended Larwill High School.
He entered into the U.S. Army on Aug. 8, 1944, serving in the European Theater.
He was honorably discharge on Sept. 30, 1945. He returned to the area.
On Dec. 29, 1944, he married Ruth C. Fosnaugh. They made their home in Richland Township.
Betty J. Boggs, 83, a resident of rural Churubusco in Noble County, died at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at the family residence in Green Township following an extended illness.
Mrs. Boggs was born in Smith Township on May 14, 1929, the daughter of Orlando and Lela N. (Shlater) Geiger. She spent her formative years in the Churubusco area and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1947.
Barbara S. Wilt, 76, of Fort Wayne, died at 11:01 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Life Care Nursing Home, Fort Wayne.
Born April 27, 1936, in Noble County, she was the daughter of Chester J. and Jennie (Smith) Boggs.
She graduated from Wolf Lake High School with the class of 1954. On July 3, 1963, she married Lanny K. Wilt in Fort Wayne, and they have always lived in Noble County.
For 31 years she worked for Dana Corporation, Churubusco, where she retired in 1994. She was a member of the Cornerstone Wesleyan Church, Merriam.
Mildred â€śMillieâ€ť Evelyn Penn Ellison, 89, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the Mason Healthcare Center in Warsaw.
She was born Nov. 25, 1922, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Emerick) Penn in Huntington County.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Richard Ellison, four daughters, two sons, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
