Earl McEntire, 85

June 6, 2012

Earl J. McEntire, 85 of Northwest Allen County, died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at his residence.
He was born March 12, 1927, a son of Meril and Nina (Willour) Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann (Ulrich) McEntire; three children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Pastor Tom O’Brien officiating.
Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.

Matthew Hill, 40

Matthew “Pete” J. Hill , of Columbia City, passed away at 9:29 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Hill was born on Feb. 19, 1972, in Fort Wayne, a son of Max and Judy (Oliver) Hill. He spent his formative years in Columbia City.
He enjoyed time spent with his children and they admired his strength and bravery during his illness. Brenden will miss watching the Steelers with his dad. Maddie was the apple of his eye.

John Pease, 87

John J. Pease, of Bluffton, passed away at 2 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at River Terrace Estates.
John was born on Oct. 4, 1924, in Wells County, to Lester R. Pease and Evelyn D. (Speheger) Pease. He married Esther L. (Ginter) in Wells County on April 14, 1946. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2001. John married Phyllis (Barnett) Langel in Adams County on Sept. 24, 2002, and she survives.
John was a graduate of Bluffton High School. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran having served our country from July 29, 1943, to Jan. 24, 1946, in the European Theater.

David Graves, 69

David A. Graves, 69, of Roanoke, Ind., passed away at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Born Nov. 19, 1942, in Allen County, he was the son of Deloss S. and Donna Belle (Swing) Graves-Gillam.
Mr. Graves graduated from Roanoke High School with the class of 1961. He was a lifetime resident of Roanoke, except for the time he served in the U.S. Air Force from May, 1961-1965.

Larry Bills, 76

Larry Robert Bills, 76, of Columbia City, died at home at 1:40 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012. Born on April 21, 1936, in Whitley County, he was the son of Charles Alfred and Thelma Odetta (Campbell) Bills.
A lifelong Whitley County resident, he attended Troy Center Grade School and Larwill High School.
He married Carolyn A. Miller in Fort Wayne on Jan. 21, 1961. She died in 2008.
